2011 is BIG!

Our Midpoint Adopteen Camp-Conference made its debut in Mississippi just last week and it was…?  EPIC.  Such an incredibly rad group of people, sharing in two-and-a-half days of pure fun.  I have such good people in my life.  I am so grateful.

The 4th Annual National Adopteen Camp-Conference is coming up in July!!!  The event is going to be five days this time around (July 18-22) and it’s all going down in Virginia Beach, VA.!  As always, news and info will first be posted on our website starting next month, so be sure to check that out!

I’m hoping others will start posting random tidbits up on here as time goes on.  I feel like I’m always just talking to myself…

Keep swimming,

Amy

Been a long time…

Hey, hello, hi!

It’s been a while…  Both Mississippi and Virginia have been working very hard to organize two incredible conferences for all the adopteens out there!  We will be opening registration up within the next two weeks for the MS mid-point conference, so keep an eye out for that.  Again, the MS conference is only two and a half days long and will be held January 15-17, 2011.  For more information, please visit the website at www.chinaadopteen.org!

Sorry for the silence. Love always.

One week later, slideshow, join in on the blogging, etc.!

It has now been an entire week since the 3rd Annual Adopteen Camp-Conference ended :(  and we are still frantically busy wrapping up and tying up all the loose ends, as well as planning for next year’s conference!  Ohhhh work.

As many of you all know, every Adopteen Camp-Conference has been accompanied with a pretty picture slideshow.  This year is no different!  We are sifting through all the thousands of pictures at this very moment, while typing up this lovely blog (we pride ourselves in our multi-tasking talents).  So, if any of you have pictures you took at the conference that you would like to have featured in this year’s slideshow, please send them our way via email to amy@chinaadopteen.org.  We only had three cameras, so we couldn’t've possibly captured every single kodak moment…even with having taken 2,168 photos……

Additionally, we want to invite EVERYONE to blog and post on this site!!! We want to be able to stay connected with you guys throughout the year and it would be fun to check in on this blog to see what’s goin’ on in everyone’s lives.  Write new posts, post pictures, share videos…anything!  For the username and password, just message Amy, Art, or any of the 2010 Teen Committee members on facebook or through email!  It’s that simple.  As long as your posts are appropriate… ;)

That’s it for now.  Remember to check the main Adopteen website at www.chinaadopteen.org for additional news that may not be on here.

Friends and Family!!

The Adopteen Conference was amazing this year!!!!!! I love that even though the first day is really awkward, even for me who fits in with most people, we make several friends. It’s so cool that we have like facebook, myspace, cell phones and stuff like that because we then stay in contact all year. People who come to the conference come from all over the country. Like Ann is from Pennsylvania, Eli and Daniel are from Mississippi and Hanna is from Nebraska!!!!! Even though we live all over the country it’s like we are 1 big family.

3rd Day

Hey everybody, today was fun and full of good energy. People are really getting comfortable and loving being here with new friends. We had more group discussions.  People were a little shy, but it was all good. The talent show was also fun! We’ve got some talented people here! :) This night will never end well at least till 1:00am. I love this Conference!!!

Day Two of Conference – Less Awkward, More Fun!!

Hello Everyone! So today was pretty amazing! We started off the day by breaking up into 3 short classes filled with fun, entertainment, and of course, education (but fun education). :) After some refreshing classes, we headed over to the wonderful Rady house and had a blast! Snowcones, paddleboats, soccer, and FOOD! haha. Also, today was the first day of our teen discussions. We broke up into groups and talked for about an hour about what it’s like to be adopted…that was a little awkward for some campers at first, BUT after that there was more pool, food, and fun!

July 29th — First day of Camp-Conference :)

Everyone Loves the awkward first day, and us asians are no different ;) , but the beauty of having the awkward first day is having an amazing rest of the conference. This is a über group of teens, who knows their way around socializing, making friends, and talking it up. Maybe a little too much :) jkk. This has been an awesome first day, and us teen committee members are looking forward to what tomorrow  will bring. This is Eli for the adopteen camp-conference saying hi and bye to all the parents and campers. :D

Hello World!

First post for the 2010 Adopteen Camp-Conference! exciting.

This blog is a new thing starting this year so we’ll see how it goes.  We’ll be updating it over the four days of the Camp-Conference (starting July 29th and running through August 1st!) and, while we cannot guarantee consistently witty banter or compelling theories, we do promise to do a full report/reflection — with 98.6 ± 1.4 % integrity — on the goings-on of each day.  Those are pretty good odds.

So.  Please enjoy!  Our aim is to inform and maybe entertain…
